Booksigning for Bill Peach
This is Bill's fourth book! See the calendar page for scheduled signing events. Receptions are planned (TBD) at Landmark Booksellers in Historic Downtown Franklin, at Barnes & Noble at Mallory Corners, and at the Williamson County Library, Main Branch. Politics, Preaching & Philosophy, a collection of 52 essays, is available through any bookstore in the Ingram distribution system. The book is also available from Westview Publishing, or via Bill's web page.

The Unbridled Pen - A Writers Workshop is now open for registration. This wide-ranging workshop will offer lessons in creative and structural wordsmithing through two outstanding presenters. |
Peggy Godfrey will talk about breathing "geothermal" life into your prose and poetry, both on paper and during readings. Known as a cowboy poet, this Colorado artist will share her secrets for Turning Experience Into Descriptive Prose and Poetry by tapping into "the hot stuff that flows from the ground of our being".
Michael Martone will slice and dice your work in his Cross-Sectional Workshop, revealing what comprises the best of titles, first lines, closing paragraphs, and other elements of strong writing. The author of numerous essays, stories and books, he is currently a professor of English at the University of Alabama.
The workshop will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 8 AM to 4 PM at Christ UMC, 508 Franklin Rd, Franklin, TN. Attendees are also invited to a pre-event reception on Friday evening at Landmark Booksellers. Cost for the workshop is $65 if postmarked by June 30, 2009; $73 after that date. WordFest 2009 Coming!
WordFest 2009, a conference for writers and word lovers, will be held June 12-13 at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. Hosted by the Tennessee Writers Alliance (TWA), this annual event will feature workshops on fiction, journalism, and poetry, as well as readings and critiques. Keynote speaker will be Eric Wilson. Announcing the 2009 CWW Anthology
The Council for the Written Word announces the forthcoming release of an anthology showcasing the writings of its members, of those it has honored in its Hall of Fame, and of selected local writers from a Bibliography it maintains. The collective work of fiction and creative non-fiction is expected to be available in September, 2009. More details will be made available at this website as the date approaches!

Kathy Rhodes' essay "An Open Letter" will appear in The Best Creative Nonfiction Volume 3, edited by Lee Gutkind, published by W.W. Norton in July 2009. This collection will showcase new voices, ideas, forms, and approaches in creative nonfiction and will be published simultaneously as a trade paperback and an issue of the groundbreaking journal Creative Nonfiction.
